Scarborough Gardens Enhanced With New Railings

New railings are a clear sign that an area is investing in its amenities in order to enhance its overall look and feel and attract more visitors.

Scarborough Borough Council has done just that with the refurbishment of St Nicholas Gardens, where bespoke high quality galvanised mild steel railings have been supplied and installed by Alpha Rail Ltd.

Alpha Rail supplied and installed 300m of its popular Westminster range of vertical bar railings that were powder coated using the Duplex system, a specialist coating that has been developed for use in areas susceptible to severe erosion, such as coastal locations. The discreet black finish is perfectly in keeping with the style of the walkways and enhances the overall look and feel of these attractive gardens. The scheme was part-funded by Yorkshire Forward, which is currently investing heavily in the renaissance of Scarborough.

Scarborough is one of the most popular tourist destinations on the North Yorkshire coast and is renowned for its attractive and well maintained parks and gardens.

Andy Crossley, Engineer for Scarborough Borough Council, explains: “We are delighted with the new railings, which were chosen for their robust, vandal resistant properties and longevity. The design of the railings complements the style of the parks and gardens in this area and we have received many positive comments already from local residents and tourists on the improvements.”
