This is the first in a six-part story describing the metal railings and gates production process. We explain how your order will be dealt with, right from the initial enquiry, through to the supply and installation of the finished metalwork. Each and every Alpha Rail design is built with strength and rigidity as standard, with absolutely no compromise on style and elegance.
Initial enquiry for metal railings, gates or other bespoke metalwork
All enquiries will come into our sales and estimating team who have over 30 years of experience. They will help and advise you on the best solution and the range of decorative railings, gates and finials that are available, as well as bespoke designs and other metalwork such as pedestrian guardrail, cycle racks, balustrade, and estate fencing.
Turning hand drawings into full CAD approval drawings
This is the stage when we are often given a verbal brief or a hand drawing of something someone has seen and would like made. Our expert team of CAD designers are able to transfer ideas into a reality so that the finished railing, gate or archway can be shown in context with its potential surroundings. These can be architect’s rough sketches or sometimes schools ask their pupils to get involved and run drawing competitions to design the school nameplate or entrance gate. We help our customers customise boundaries with themes, styles, symbols, colours and shapes that will communicate, educate and caution accordingly.
Working with architects
In the majority of cases, we have been sent very detailed design briefs from an architect and the requirements are very specific and precise. In which case we transfer their drawings into our software and use our expert knowledge of past projects to cost the components required and provide a detailed quotation.Tags: Metal railings and gates – The manufacturing process
