Alpha Rail have been involved in supplying pedestrian guardrail for The Greater Manchester Metrolink tram network extension which is undergoing a £1.4bn expansion with new lines to Wythenshawe and Manchester Airport, and through Oldham and Rochdale town centres.
We recently received an email which was forwarded to us by Metrolink from Dr. Jon Lamonte, the Chief Executive of Transport for Greater Manchester, praising the project teams involved on the works.
“As the trams are rolling through Oldham Town Centre this morning, can I congratulate everyone for their part in getting this latest phase of Metrolink expansion over the line. Having walked the route on several occasions, it’s a great example of how transport can really transform a place – I hope it acts as a springboard for developing Oldham. I intend to go out and see what the public make of it shortly; I know that this has been eagerly awaited by many for a long time now.
Please pass on my thanks to all in your teams – this is a great step in building our reputation for delivery of a quality product for the public.”
