Fans of Nottingham’s Highfields Park and its park restoration project are being urged to show support for its £4.2m Heritage Lottery Fund bid.
More than 350 people have so far signed a petition backing plans to restore the Grade II-listed park, off University Boulevard in Nottingham.
In addition, 260 have completed a survey giving feedback on what they would like to see there.
The application to the Heritage Lottery Fund will be lodged at the end of June and the outcome will be known in the autumn.
Alpha Rail Sales Director Phil Ball said, “Securing Heritage Lottery Funding will help the local authority carry out improvement work to restore the park to its former glory. It’s a project that will hopefully enable local suppliers like us to win new business I urge everyone who loves Highfields Park to support the bid.”
The petition and survey can be accessed until June 2 online http://www.nottinghamcity.gov.uk/highfieldspark or by visiting the box office of the park’s DH Lawrence Building.
Anyone who completes the survey has the chance to win a £20 Victoria Centre voucher.Tags: Park restoration
