Bespoke metalwork manufacturer Alpha Rail has been appointed by building contracting firm AJ Dunne & Sons Limited to provide metal railings and automated gates for the perimeter grounds and frontage of Finchley Catholic High School.
Dunne had already been appointed to carry out the design and build of this new Sixth Form Centre which will provide improved learning facilities for existing and future students. There were some existing blue metal railings already in place and a manufacturer was required who could replicate the design.
In total, Alpha Rail has provided 45 metres of 2 metre high decorative vertical bar railings painted RAL Blue RAL 5005 Blue . The metal railings also featured an additional horizontal “dog bar” fitted at one metre high that had further vertical bar in-fills. Each vertical bar was finished with a decorative spear shaped finial.
Alpha Rail also manufactured a matching 2.4 metre wide by 2 metre high self closing double leaf metal gate. This featured three posts and a metalwork casing ready for the intercom keypad electrics to control access to authorised personnel.
Commenting, AJ Dunne Technical Director, Tony Dunne said “We issued an invitation to quote for the railings to some existing suppliers and found Alpha Rail following an internet search. They responded quickly and their price was also competitive. We have found them really easy to deal with and they have fixed any problems quickly efficiently. They always met their promises and did exactly what they said the were going to do – which sadly, is a rarity in business these days!”
Finchley Catholic High School is a boys’ secondary school with a coeducational sixth form in North Finchley, part of the London Borough of Barnet. It is a school for boys aged 11–18, with a mixed-sex Sixth Form.
