We are delighted that Alpha Rail apprentice Adam Briggs has passed his Intermediate Level Apprenticeship in Improving Operational Performance in Science, Engineering and Manufacturing Technologies.

Adam, (19) is a former pupil of Tibshelf Community School, and joined Alpha Rail three years ago, after a successful work experience placement from the school.

He was enrolled by Alpha Rail with Vision West Notts College to start his apprentice training. Since then, he has attended day release at college whilst also gaining work experience in all areas of Alpha Rail’s business.  He started working on the shop floor and gained experience in the drafting and design office and fabricating and machine operating before finding his niche as a welder.

He will now continue his training at Alpha Rail and play his part in a team of qualified technicians helping us to manufacture quality metal railings, gates and bespoke architecture.

Adam, in his free time, is a passionate Derby County supporter watching them home and away. He enjoys playing 5 aside football with his friends twice a week and he plays cricket for South Wingfield CC during the summer months where he is a opening bowler.

Commenting, Dave Woodward (Fabrication Manager) said, “Adam has made a real contribution to our business and has worked hard in both his studies and when he has been at Alpha Rail. I am delighted for him that he has passed his exams and been able to experience all aspects of our business before deciding his longer term career”.
