Beaumont Road is a housing estate located in Wandsworth, East London.
It is the largest housing estate in the borough of Waltham Forest and when it was first built in the 1960’s comprised several multi-story tower blocks of flats.
Fast forward to 2015, and the area is the last high rise estate (with 20-plus-storey towers) in Leyton. All the neighbouring high rise estates have been demolished yet the decorative railings installed by Alpha Rail in 1989 still remain.
In total, Alpha Rail installed approximately 500+ linear metres of decorative railings featuring infill bars arranged such that square and triangle shapes were created. Galvanized and then powder coated green, the railings were mounted upon raked brick walling and in between square brick pillars.
Beaumont Road is one of the projects Alpha Rail has chosen to feature as part of its 30th Anniversary showcase. The aim is to feature now and then pictures of past projects to highlight how well Alpha Rail metal railings have lived up to our promise of high quality and will endure the test of time.
Other projects in the showcase include:
- Whitehall Gardens, Westminster
- Crystal Palace Park
- Camden Gardens, London
- Cherry Gardens, Bermondsey
- Raleigh Gardens, Lambeth
- Red Lion Square,
- St John’s Park, Isle of Dogs
