A nationwide Government initiative started on Wednesday 5th August 2015 to highlight the many opportunities now available for young people and Alpha Rail was able to get involved by profiling its bespoke metalwork apprentices.
The campaign places a particular focus on apprenticeships in the run up to the exam results period and it was chance for businesses to highlight their own positive experience of apprentices.
Alpha Rail was able to encourage further involvement by submitting profiles about its two most recent apprentice successes.
Ryan Spencer joined Alpha Rail’s technical design team on a mechanical engineering apprenticeship from Vision West Notts College. He has had the opportunity to learn all about CAD design and drafting design drawings for our metal railings, gates and pedestrian guardrail projects.
Adam Briggs attended day release at the same college whilst also gaining work experience in all areas of Alpha Rail’s business. He started working on the shop floor and experienced the drafting and design office, fabricating and machine operating before finding his niche as a welder. He now helps us to manufacture quality metal railings, gates and other bespoke architecture.
You too can join in the conversation by sharing how your organization supports young people by submitting your own profiles and using the hashtags #aimhigh and #getingofar in your social media posts.
