During the day, Dean Briggs is busy in our Technical Department, working with our team of in-house technicians to create technical drawings for customers and getting them out to the shop floor for manufacture, all on time for the wide variety of projects we get involved in.
In his free time, Dean is a core member of South Wingfield CC, and has been involved with the club for almost 40 years. A recent cartilage operation means that he can no longer play, however you will still find Dean wearing an array of different hats there, including Club Secretary, Child Welfare Officer, Junior Co-Ordinator and Team Manager for the Under 12s and 13s. The love for SWCC has continued through the family, with his two sons Adam and Alex playing for club. Dean’s father, Gordon Briggs, also worked tirelessly for the club until his death in 2015. His dedication and commitment to SWCC was appreciated so much that the bar was named after him!
Naturally, having such a big involvement with the club, Dean is proud to support an upcoming testimonial match for Tony Palladino, a right-arm medium pace bowler and right-handed batsman for Derbyshire Cricket Club. Palladino, now 35, joined the club in 2011 and is a good friend of the South Wingfield CC.
Commenting, Dean Briggs said “The testimonial match is looking to be a fantastic night. Tony Palladino is a very good friend to the club, and we are only too happy to support him – may the good weather continue for what is going to be such an enjoyable event.”
The match between South Wingfield CC and Derbyshire County CC is set to take place on Monday 6th August 2018, with the main 20/20 game starting at 6:15pm at Holme Lane, South Wingfield. With a £2 entrance fee (U16 free when accompanied by an adult), visitors will have access to refreshing cold drinks at the bar, and a bite to eat at the hog roast BBQ.
Best of luck to both teams taking part and may it be great fun for all!Tags: architectural metalworkbespoke metalworkmetal railingstechnical director
