Project Overview

The Cycle Super Highway is a new initiative created by Transport to London (TFL) in a bid to encourage inhabitants of London to cycle around the city instead of using traditional methods such as The Underground or the use of cars.

The project entailed creating a two-way cycle track enabling along the West Carriage Drive which stretches past Hyde Park. As part of the park refurbishments, the garden areas were to upgraded with additional flower beds being installed to keep in touch with other Royal Park features.

Alpha Rail Solution

Having completed many projects on Royal Parks before Alpha Rail were contracted by building contractors FM Conway to supply perimeter railings that would protect the flower beds and garden areas from the viewing public. Alpha Rail supplied 160m panels of 800mm high interlaced bowtop railings all of which were galvanised and powder coated BS12B29 Midnight Green.

"We have used Alpha Rails’ services several times before for similar projects in the Royal Park. They liaised effectively with Daniel Wilson, the project manager on the Cycle Superhighway at TFL and ensured that the project was completed on time and to a very high standard."
